Just say yes – A guide to lucky travelling

Just say yes – A guide to lucky travelling

“Oh you´re SO LUCKY!” its a common expression you hear often when speaking about experiences and travels (travels in their whole concept: through the planet, through people, through life). Well, you see, luck and serendipity are not shinning bouncy little stars waiting to fall over someone specially chosen (by who?) just because. Luck is what happens when you take a chance and go for something, not caring about it A LOT, and with an attitude.

When I came back from my trip to New Orleans – which by the way is not the moon (return ticket from Madrid about 700eur) – all I could hear was “God, YOU ARE SOO LUCKY”. Was I? I lost my passport, tickets and money the day before the flight. I was hired in a hotel which happened to be managed by an psycho german who sacked me in two weeks. Flying crokoaches and small spiders slept close and tight to my bed. Etc. Yet, I managed to make the most of it, find quick solutions, get over it, and fly to the next place singing “anything goes”. Best summer ever.

Karen Banes knows a lot more about this, check her post at Brave New Traveler.
